EXPLORING EFFECT ON PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' STEM ATTITUDE DETERMINED VIA STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELING

As STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education gets more attention from society, students' attitudes towards are increasingly concerned. However, there was scant research that has empirically documented the relations among attitude, learning motivation metacognition. This used Structural Equation Modeling to examine above relations. Data were collected 845 primary school students grade 4 6, regarding their motivation, metacognition, sociodemographic characteristics (family socioeconomic status). The results showed metacognition played a mediating role in effect of on attitude. family status moderating with higher had stronger also suggested it is worth considering improvement facilitate attitude through promoting metacognitive skills, meanwhile balancing gap between under difference level education.
